You can still surprise me, Sacramento.

You can still surprise me, Sacramento.

When I arrived in Old Sacramento for a photo session, I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed the place being set up for what I know now as the Gold Rush Festival. Folks came dressed up and in their vintage clothing and artifacts. It was exciting to experience and see everybody energetic about the festivities. It really was a site to see so please enjoy!

I could be totally wrong, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t have cellphones during the civil war.

This is the tool that the dentist offered to pull my teeth out with.  He appropriately called it “the claw”.

Minh + Amanda

IMG_0910

I’ve had the pleasure of having Minh as one of my best friends growing up. We’ve gone through a lot through the years like marching band adventures, high school girl issues (or lack there of on my part), bad cafeteria pizza depression and mature conversations about clever pick-up lines. I met Amanda a few years ago after they started dating and knew she was the right one for him. She’s creative, hilarious and all around a good person. (By the way, she’s also a very talented baker and you should check out her website! http://ohmypancake.blogspot.com)

These two are very pleasant to be around and I’ve never seen Minh so happy. Enjoy their one year anniversary photo session!

Keana Romero

IMG_08772

Last week, an old friend contacted me about doing a photo session.  Since we haven’t seen each other in a long time, we decided we were due for a reunion. Keana and I were part of a Halau (a Polynesian dance group – you know, the type you see at Hawaiian Luau’s where they bring you on stage after you’ve had a few drinks to see if you can do the hula while intoxicated) where she danced gracefully and I played the instruments the best I knew how – and by ‘the best I knew how’, I mean ‘uncontrollably bad’.  We met up, caught up and took some amazing pictures. Check them out!

Keith + Raquel

IMG_9796

This past Sunday, Keith and Raquel held their wedding in the Capital Rose Garden on an unpredictable day of June. The day began as a gloomy Sunday morning which turned into light drizzle and ended as a normal sunny, summer day. Despite the unpredictability of the weather, the wedding day was a joyous occasion none the less. Please take a look and you’ll immediately understand what I’m talking about.

Paul + Beverly

I had the opportunity to take a quick photo session of my brother Paul and his new wife Beverly while we were in Hawaii sometime between eating poke on the beach and eating poke at the other beach. We all had a great time spending quality family time together and made sure we all gained at least 10 more pounds before heading back home to Sacramento. Here’s to Paul and my new sister.

Ali + Quinn: A Highlight Film

Hello! For all those who have known me, I’ve been a wedding cinematographer for years. This year, I’ve had the pleasure of leading up the cinema crew for Vivian Sachs Photography. I was able to meet this fun couple and shoot their gorgeous wedding. Please take a look at their wedding film and see just how awesome it was to be a part of it!
